CHILLICOTHE – A woman previously sentenced to serve 15 years in prison for a crime spree involving the armed robbery of the North High Street Circle K was sentenced to serve 14 years and six months in prison after a problem in the court system.

Maxine E. Conley originally pleaded guilty to robbery and two counts each of complicity to aggravated robbery, burglary and forgery and was sentenced in 2014. Ross County Court of Common Pleas Judge Scott Nusbaum sentenced Conley again Tuesday.

When the case went to appeals court, Ross County Prosecutor Matthew Schmidt said, it had to be brought back before the common pleas court because of a problem in the sentencing documents.

Conley’s sentence was reduced by six months because of efforts made while incarcerated to obtain a GED certificate and other education, Schmidt said.

Conley is alleged to have driven a getaway car when Brody McGraw, 25, robbed the Circle K on High Street with a gun and shot through the sunroof at someone pursuing them after a burglary on Ohio 138.

Other incidents Conley was involved in include a burglary in 2012 at Conley’s stepfather’s home; a 2012 armed robbery at Chip’s Drive Thru, during which Conley used mace on employees; and two checks stolen in 2013 that Conley is alleged to have forged for herself totaling $1,200.

In December 2013, McGraw pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of burglary and one count of felonious assault. He was sentenced to 26 years in prison.
