Local sports: Pleasant girls, Northmor boys dominate

SOFTBALL

Pleasant 9, Loudonville 1

Georgie Stacy had 15 strikeouts for the Spartans (1-0) as they clinched a dominant win over Loudonville (0-1) on Monday. Stacy only allowed two hits on the evening. The Spartans had 13 total hits.

Old Fort 3, Marion Harding 2

The Presidents offense had six hits and gave up eight in a tight game with Old Fort. The Stockaders had a 3-1 lead going into the seventh inning before Harding’s offense snuck another one across the plate.

Shania Bynre hit a double, and Meghan McComas was two for three at bat for Harding.

BASEBALL

Northmor 16, Mansfield Christian 1

Northmor (1-0) scored eight runs in the second inning, leaving Mansfield Christian (0-1) in the dust. Jarod Vanderkooi had four hits, including one double. Brock Trombly had two doubles.

Old Fort 3, Marion Harding 1

The Stockaders had all three of their runs by the bottom of the second.

Mt. Gilead 4, River Valley 0

The Indians (1-0) opened the game with three runs and held River Valley (0-1) off for the rest of the game. Xavier Harris, pitching for Mt. Gilead, allowed four hits and struck out five batters.
