MANSFIELD – A local man was arrested on pornography charges Tuesday.

Scott Mills, 40, was arrested on charges of pandering sexual oriented matter involving a minor during a raid of his 299 First Ave. home Tuesday, according to a news release.

The Mansfield Police Department Internet Crimes Unit, METRICH Enforcement Unit and the Cuyahoga County Internet Crimes Against Children task force conducted the search. The investigation uncovered obscene materials involving minors were being downloaded at that location, the release said.

Right now, all material is believed to be contained online, METRICH Sgt. Chad Brubaker said. It’s unknown whether any local juveniles were affected, he said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Additional charges may be coming for Mills. Further charges are being forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review, the release said.

Mills does not have a criminal history, above traffic citations, based on a search of Mansfield Municipal and Richland County records.

The Mansfield Police Department, in cooperation with surrounding agencies and communities, will continue to aggressively pursue crimes involving juveniles as victims, the release said.

Mansfield Detective Todd Vanausdle initiated the investigation. Anyone with information about Mills is encouraged to contact Vanausdle at 419-755-9778.
