Coshocton Tribune looking to the future

Pam James

As a modern media company, Coshocton Tribune Media frequently is adapting to meet the needs of our readers and our market. It’s something we’ve been doing for 106 years now: Evolving into the best media company we know how to be.

As part of that evolution, Coshocton Tribune Media is exploring the possible sale of its Main Street building, with plans to either lease back space or lease space elsewhere.

The building at 550 Main St. has served our purpose well for many years, but it is much larger than the Tribune needs moving forward. Rather than continue to maintain unnecessary space, we would rather invest in our staff and technology. The sale of the building would not have a negative impact on our long-term plans to serve readers and advertisers on all platforms: print, digital and mobile.

Quite the contrary, we believe this move will help us continue to evolve into the sleek, modern media company you want to best serve this community. We remain as committed as ever to Coshocton, and we hope to stay in downtown Coshocton. Our goal is to find a space that enhances our digital future and strategic direction and reinforces our role and commitment as a part of Coshocton’s success. A new space with the look and feel of a modern media company can only enhance our efforts.

Ideally, we would love to see our current building put to a use that more fully uses its capabilities and enhances its status as a critical part of downtown, as well. If those goals are achieved, there are no losers here.

So, in a sense, the sale of our building and our move could be seen as the end of an era. In a sense, we see it that way, too. But we have been and will continue to be committed to providing our readers with news and information that’s important to them. That tradition of excellence won’t change. Our methodology, of course, has changed plenty, and continues to evolve as we deliver news to your smartphones, tablets, laptops, and, of course, your doorsteps. We’re proud of that legacy and that tradition and firmly believe it exceeds the trappings of any particular building — especially in today’s media world.

We look forward to continuing to serve Coshocton in the future.
