PORT CLINTON – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at yet another small business in the Ottawa County area in which two suspects robbed Salon 53 in Portage Township.

Brenda Belcher, the owner of Salon 53, said that, within 15 minutes of locking up and leaving the business about 6 p.m. July 3, the two suspects pried open the doors and began stealing property from the salon. The suspects took a laptop computer, an iPad, and about $2,500 in cash and checks, Belcher said.

Security camera footage captured images of both suspects, who appear to be a man and woman. The man is seen wearing a red collared shirt with a dark ball cap, and the woman is in a multicolored dress.

Belcher said she is offering a cash reward to anyone who can assist in identifying the two suspects and leading police to their arrest.

“I’m so sick to my stomach to think that this would ever happen,” she said in a Facebook post.

Belcher said that, when the burglary took place in broad daylight, she was only four doors down having dinner at a restaurant.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 419-734-4404.
