Fire destroys Alfred Street residence

ZANESVILLE – A man's residence was destroyed in a Friday morning fire.

Zanesville Fire Chief Eric Waltemire said crews were dispatched to 831 Alfred St. about 8:30 a.m. after someone reported a camper was burning.

The owner, who occupied the camper on his father's land, was not home during the fire. No one was injured.

The 12-foot abode was completely destroyed. A propane heater had been used, but Waltemire said the official cause of the fire is unknown.
