Fire destroys kitchen of Cambridge home

CAMBRIDGE – Authorities are still investigating the cause of a fire on Gomber Avenue early Wednesday morning.

The Cambridge Fire Department responded to the fire in the 900 block at 3:30 a.m., said Assistant Chief Tim Milner.

The fire destroyed the kitchen, and left smoke damage in other areas of the house, Milner said. The family was not at home.

Milner said the department is still investigating the cause.

The department cleared the scene at 6:40 a.m., he said. No other departments were dispatched to the scene.
