LEXINGTON – The North Central Ohio Football Coaches Association will be providing a fix for the football itch in their annual All-Star Classic on June 13 at Lexington High School.

The game features the area’s top senior football players from the 2014 season, and the Northern 10 Conference will see players all over the field.

Bucyrus leads the way with six selections overall, followed closely by Wynford with five. Colonel Crawford will field three representatives and Buckeye Central will have two, with Crestline rounding out the conference with a single selection.

Quarterback Cole Murtiff headlines the selections for the Redmen. The senior slinger led the N10 with 2,269 yards passing. He threw for 18 touchdowns while completing 69 percent of his passes.

Murtiff might have three receivers who look familiar to him on the field at the same time. Wide receivers Austin Williams, Cole Hollis and Justin Campbell will be sure to catch whatever is thrown their way.

Williams led the N10 in receiving yards with 760 on 65 catches. He found the end zone six times. Hollis was among the league leaders with 386 yards and three scores.

Offensive linemen D.J. Dagher and Levi Spence will provide the protection for their quarterback.

The big uglies up front will feature three Wynford Royals. Zach Hendrickson, Cyle Skidmore and Kaleb Alspach will likely be serving pancakes all day long. The three measure out to be 6-2, 6-0 and 5-9 and beef up to 705 pounds combined.

Skidmore was a terror on defense, leading the league in sacks with eight, tackles for loss with 20.5 and added 94 total tackles.

Quarterback selection Keaton Teynor will be as comfortable in the pocket as he was during the Royals 11-2 N10 Champion campaign. Teynor threw for 1,256 yards and 12 touchdowns behind his offensive line. The speedster also broke the 1,000-yard mark in rushing with 1,208.

Austin Shutler might be looking to catch passes from the other team rather than from his quarterback. The N10 leader in interceptions, with seven, will be roaming the field for the North.

Buckeye Central Buck Jordan Herrnstein will be looking to test out his surgically repaired knee before he heads to Tiffin University to play football. The 6-4 wide receiver will be a great target for Murtiff and Teynor.

Running back Ross Martin will headline the backfield representing the Bucks.

Lone Crestline Bulldog Nate Coffman also will be a big target for the North. The 6-4 tight end caught 49 balls for 516 yards during his senior campaign.

Alongside Herrnstein and Plymouth’s Tyrell Edmiston, the North will feature three receivers at 6-4 or taller.

“We have a lot of depth,” said North coach Mark Genders, of Plymouth. “I was finally able to meet all of the kids, and they are all great athletes. Murtiff had a great year last year, and we will run a similar offense, so he should do well in this game. Those three from Wynford are stout guys who are built strong.”

For the South, a trio of Colonel Crawford Eagles will roam the sidelines. Dylan Gulley will bring his 540 receiving yards in 2014 to the field. The speedster ran a 5.49 40-yard dash at the Bob Royer Relays this year for the Eagles’ track team.

Skyler Rose and Tyler Picou will man the offensive line in their final game together.
