For the record: Man says father choked him

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

• 8:15 p.m., a caller said his father put him in a choke-hold and his mother twisted his shirt. The caller said he pushed his mother down to run away. The father told deputies he was trying to protect his wife because his son was pushing her, 2400 block Stephanie Lane, Salem Township.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT

• 4:15 p.m., a caller told police she received a text from someone stating she needed to call them because they have her 5-year-old son and he was hurt. The woman said her son's grandmother was supposed to pick him up from school. She attempted to call the number back and the call went straight to voice mail. Deputies said the call came from a voice from the Internet and will continue the investigation, 2020 block East Harbor Road, Portage Township.
