Owners of Internet cafe charged with crimes

Staff report
The Talk N Win in Fremont remains closed.

Three people accused of running illegal gambling houses across northwestern Ohio —including one in Fremont — were charged with crimes on Thursday.

Marvin Dabish, 38, Robert Dabish, 39, and Nadia Dabish, 49, all of Oregon, were indicted on 41 counts each, including engaging in a corrupt activity, which carries a 10-year sentence; possessing criminal tools, violating casino gaming laws, gambling and operating a gambling house, according to a news release from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine.

The Dabishes own Talk-N-Win Internet cafés in Defiance, Toledo, Oregon, Findlay and Fremont. Patrons would play slot machines for a chance to win and were paid in cash in violation of state law, according to the release.

In December, law enforcement served search warrants on five Talk N Win locations, including one at 121 S. Fifth St., Fremont, and seized 475 electronic gaming terminals.

The Fremont Talk N Win remains closed.

The indictment was filed in in Defiance County.
