Police: Motorist pulled over had needle in arm

Telegraph-Forum staff report

BUCYRUS – Acting on a tip that a reckless motorist was headed into Bucyrus on Monday evening, officers arrested a man on two drug-related charges after pulling him over and finding a needle in his arm, police reported.

Tyler Danner, 20, of McCutchenville in Seneca County, was arrested for possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug-abuse instruments, a misdemeanor, after his vehicle was stopped on East Irving Street near Woodrow Avenue in Bucyrus.

After reports that a reckless driver was headed south on Ohio 19 north of Bucyrus, veering left of center, Bucyrus Police Department officers checked the area of Tiffin Street. Once they spotted his vehicle, officers reported observing Danner slumped over the steering wheel.

After officers pulled Danner's vehicle over at 5:45 p.m. Monday, he was observed with a needle in his arm, according to scanner traffic at the time. The Bucyrus Fire Department and EMS were called to the scene.

Danner was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center.
