Offense sputters in Ridgedale's loss

MORRAL – Ridgedale was limited to only two hits and fell 3-0 to Bucyrus Tuesday in a Northern 10 softball game.

Hannah Ferguson hit a double and Brooke Bullock singled for the Lady Rockets.

Ferguson was also the losing pitcher.

Highland 6, Elgin 0

MARION – Highland produced three-run innings in the first and fourth to cruise past Elgin 6-0 in the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference.

Kelsey Walters, Megan Oder and Hailey Moore each swatted two hits for the Lady Scots (10-10 overall, 6-6 MOAC).

JV Softball

Johnstown-Monroe 10, River Valley 5

JOHNSTOWN River Valley fell to Johnstown-Monroe 10-5 in a non-leaguer.

Shaelyn Bonsel swatted three singles for River Valley (12-4). Daisy Goodman singled and doubled, and Mackenzie Warner hit two singles.

Baseball

Fairbanks 7, River Valley 1

CALEDONIA – Fairbanks scored twice in the opening inning and added five insurance runs over the last two innings for a 7-1 MOAC triumph at River Valley.

River Valley was held to only four hits. They were singles by Logan Fetter, Weston Perry, Aaron Berg, and Trent Waddell.

Highland 12, Elgin 2

SPARTA – Luke Wenger pitched a complete game and Colton Liszkai knocked in four runs for Highland in a 12-2 victory over Elgin.

Jonathan Alder 5, River Valley 0

PLAIN CITY – River Valley lost five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 defeat administered by Jonathan Alder.

In singles, RV's Manny Acuna lost 1-6, 1-6 to Logan Woods; Nic Gottshall was defeated 1-6, 1-6 by David Salzler; and Jordyn Jackson was beaten 2-6, 0-6 by Flint Colvin.

Jon Culler and Lance DeLong fell in doubles 2-6, 4-6 to Anthony Desvyanikor and Dillon Thomas. Noah Paxton and Jarod Tuttle were defeated 1-6, 1-6 by Lucas McClaski and Conner Lombardi.
