PORT CLINTON — Labor Day weekend may be the unofficial end of summer, but it also means the annual “Peach, Perch, Pierogis and Polka” festival in Port Clinton.

The 11th annual event will take place Friday through Sunday in downtown Port Clinton at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 109 E. Perry St.

Lake Erie yellow perch sandwiches and dinners will be served along with pierogis and peach cobbler. Polish sausage sandwiches and pizza will also be available. Soft drinks, wine coolers and ice cold beer will be sold in the beer tent.

On Saturday at 4 p.m., the Black Tie dance studio will offer free polka lessons for those wishing to improve their polka skills and at 4 p.m. Sunday, the popular pierogi eating contest will be held with cash prizes.

Live polka music will be provided by the Frank Moravick Band from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Eddie Rodick Orchestra will perform from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, followed by the Del Sinchak Band from 5 to 9 p.m. On Sunday, Del Sinchak will return to the stage from noon to 4 p.m. and the evening will feature the Duane Malinowski Orchestra from 5 to 9 p.m. The festivities will conclude Sunday with the Big Multi-prize Cash drawing at 9:15 p.m.

The venue is protected from the elements and will continue rain or shine.
