Pie eating, animal contests are crowd favorites at fair

Staff report

FREMONT – Visitors to Thursday’s Sandusky County Fair events got treated to sub and pie eating and a dress-your-exhibited-animal contests, as the annual fair continued into its third day.

Thursday was Senior Citizens Day, and a special admission price was given to veterans in honor of their military service.

Bands playing at the fair Thursday included Ridin’ Shotgun and the Sleek Brothers, with Sue Sebetto also performing at the Log Cabin Stage.

The evening events were capped by a demolition derby at the fair’s grandstand, with crowds coming out to watch the smashing and banging of vehicles in the grandstand’s infield.
