Maysville ready to ‘Rock’ this weekend

SOUTH ZANESVILLE – Maysville High School’s Music Department will perform Disney’s “Camp Rock, the Musical!” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Maysville 6–12 Auditeria. Tickets are available at the door.

The play includes Mitchie, who is played by Alexis Choo, Shane played by Bendigo Slack, Nate, Tess, Kaitlyn, Peggy and Ella.

As Rosie, the new girl at camp, meets up with other campers Barbara, Sandra, Candy, Krissa, Kyle and Kendra, she quickly learns camp is always fun and unpredictable.

Camp Rock Founder Brown Cesario, played by Luke Engle, soon finds out that another music camp founded by his ex-band mate Alex Turner has opened across the lake. Alex introduces Camp Star campers Lukicia, her own daughter, Dana and Jamie at the opening campfire to the Camp Rock group. From that point on, the competition begins.

“Camp Wars” are led by TV personality Georgina and the outcome is revealed. How will it all end?

Camp Rock combines your favorite songs such as “Fire,” “Heart and Soul,” “Introducing Me” and “This is Our Song,” with characters from the Disney Channel’s Movies “Camp Rock” and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” into one funny, heartfelt theatrical experience, said Director Diana Fleegle.

The cast includes Caleb DeLong, Gavin Goodrich, Ana Presley, Cammie Bunting, Kylie Bell, Klohe Perry, Cathy Monroe, Sheridan Wilson, Cheyenne Winchester, Emily Dietz, Tess Nicholas, Tyler Presley, Kelsey Delbert, Tawna Alice, Alayna Schooley, Layla Renner, Josh Kerns and Kelsey Delbert.

The rock band under the direction of Patrick Murphy at keyboard, includes Tom Tompkins at piano, Antony Dunlap on guitar, Alex Clark on guitar, Justin Longfellow on bass, Kaitlyn Baker on tambourine and Brandon Croston on drums.
