United Way honors community impact

CHILLICOTHE – Several local businesses and individuals were recipients of United Way Community Impact Awards during the organization’s annual community banquet Thursday at Chillicothe Country Club.

In the manufacturing sector, Kenworth received a leader honor while Glatfelter was a Pacesetter and Fluor B&W was the achievement honoree. In health, Adena Health System was the leader and Dr. Larry Schmitt and Dr. David Smith were Pacesetters.

In retail, Horizon was named a leader, American Electric Power a Pacesetter and Nourse Chillicothe Automall and Herrnstein Chrysler Dodge Jeep Kia were achievement honorees. In the professional sector, Nationwide Insurance was the leader, Caldwell Ott & Co. CPAs was the Pacesetter and Rathkamp Financial was the achievement honoree.

In public service, Ross County Job and Family Services was the leader, Ross County Community Action was the Pacesetter and the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library was the achievement award winner.

Finally, in education, the Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities was the leader, Ohio University-Chillicothe was the Pacesetter and the Chillicothe City School District was the achievement honoree.

In addition to the Community Impact Awards presentations, the event also included a slide show on “Living United” in Ross County and recognition of United Way volunteers, board members and others.
