Changes come to sunflower festival

FRANKFORT – There have been some changes to the name and time of a year a popular area festival will be offered in 2015.

The International Sunflower Festival, a staple in the festival calendar each year taking place in Frankfort, will now be known as the Frankfort Sunflower Festival. The event which also has traditionally taken place around the Labor Day weekend will instead this year be held July 24 through 26.

Despite those changes, festival organizers still maintain that the event will still contain the same type of entertainment, food, arts and crafts, parade, car show, kiddie tractor pull, strongman contest and sunflower contests as in the past.
