Girls report man tried to entice them into van

CHILLICOTHE – Police were called Monday when a pair of teen girls reported someone tried to entice them into a van in Yoctangee Park.

One of the girls told police that at about 4:15 p.m. she and a friend were walking through the park to her home after school when a dark green van pulled up next to the pair and yelled at them about the music she was playing. The girl told police she ignored the van and continued walking, but the van kept following them. Suddenly, the back door of the van opened and a man told them to get in.

The girls ran home from the park, with the van — containing two men and a woman with curly hair who was driving — following them.

According to reports, the girls were scared but unharmed and no further description of the suspects was obtained.
