New chairman, vice chairman elected at Terra

FREMONT – The Board of Trustees of Terra State Community College elected a new chairman and vice chairman at the monthly meeting on Feb. 25.

Sandra Berlekamp, of Fremont, was elected chair, and Matthew Montowski, of Catawba, was elected vice chair. Berlekamp, co-owner of Berlekamp Plastics, has served as a trustee since 2010 and also serves on the Board of Trustees of Birchard Library. She previously served as vice chair of the board. Montowski, business owner of Montowski Insurance Agency, has served as a trustee since 2012.

Terra State President Jerome Webster expressed his appreciation to outgoing chairperson Nancy Grandillo for her service as chair during an event-filled year.

“I am grateful to Trustee Grandillo for her tremendous dedication, leadership, and service to the College,” he said. “She has been an asset to Terra State and a strong advocate for our students and employees.”

In other news, Trustees Grandillo, Don Nalley, and Sandra Wise will conclude their term and service on the board.

The College is awaiting appointment of trustees by Gov. John Kasich. Currently, four trustee vacancies exist. People interested in serving on the board of trustees must reside in Ohio. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Office of the President to learn more of the responsibilities of the trustee role.
