CHILLICOTHE – An assistant manager’s questioning of an employee at a Bridge Street home improvement store resulted in an injury to the manager and the arrest of the now-former employee.

Anthony Thomas Harr, 23, of 1957 Western Ave., Apt. 612, is charged with two counts of assault after the 10:55 a.m. incident at Menard’s, 1570 N. Bridge St.

According to a police report, Harr became upset when two assistant managers questioned him about his time card and accused them of harassing him. One of the managers told Harr to go home for the day. After Harr told the manager “you can’t make me leave work” and began cursing, the manager fired Harr on the spot.

Harr then punched the manager in the face and when the second manager tried to get Harr off of the first man, Harr threatened to harm the second manager. The two men wrestled Harr to the ground and called police.

One of the managers was treated by Chillicothe Fire Department EMS workers.

Harr, who was also banned from the Menard’s store, is due in court on Friday, Aug. 7.
