Police log: 'Gun' turns out to be cell phone

MAN WITH A GUN

• 9:37 a.m., a woman reported a person in the back of a green pickup pointing a gun at vehicles and officers advised it was not a gun but a cell phone, 100 block of Madison Street.

Monday

HARASSING PHONE CALL

• 9:21 p.m., a woman reported receiving harassing phone calls and an officer is going to make contact with the man making the calls to advise him to stop, 500 block of East Third Street.

ASSISTANCE

• 3:10 a.m., a caller reported heavy smoke in the area, a fire pit was located and the homeowner was advised to extinguish the fire, 700 block of Kaspar Street.

• 12:37 a.m., a caller reported the smell of burning plastics in the area and officers checked around but were unable to find a source, West End Community.

Sunday

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

• 10:42 p.m., a caller reported a man using profanity and causing problems in the lobby at Magruder Hospital, 600 block Fulton Street.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

• 6:03 p.m., a caller reported a bird injured by a fishing hook and an officer was able to remove the hook, Waterworks Park.

INTOXICATED PERSON

• 2:59 p.m., an officer was requested to check the city limits near Fremont Road due to a possible intoxicated man pushing a stroller, corner of Fremont Road and McKinley Drive.

DISTURBANCE

• 3:35 a.m., a caller reported people outside being loud and smashing beer bottles and officers checked the area finding the broken glass but the people were gone by their arrival, 1100 block of West Fremont Road.

THEFT

• 8:15 p.m., a caller reported a stolen mountain bike taken near a downtown restaurant, 100 block of Madison Street.

Friday

DISTURBANCE

• 8:05 p.m., a caller reported two people in the street throwing a football that hit a neighbors car and the subjects left prior officers’ arrival but the car appeared undamaged, 700 block of Delaware Lane.

TRESPASS

• 7:30 p.m., a caller reported two men fishing on the property and would like them to leave so officers advised the men that they had to leave, 400 block of Lakeshore Drive.

DISTURBANCE

• 3:04 a.m., a woman reported that she was woken up by people in the pool and an officer spoke with the people, who were not being loud at the time, to advise them of the complaint, 200 block of Lakeshore Drive.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

• 1:17 a.m., a caller reported two people with what looked like two-by-fours going into the woods near the back parking lot of Magruder Hospital and officers spoke with the individuals who said they were looking for frogs, 600 block of Fulton Street.

• 11:24 p.m., a man reported someone driving a truck on his property without permission and that person was warned not to be on the property again or he would be charged with trespass, corner of Reiman and Walbridge Road, Allen Township.
