MOAC seeking school to fill possible void

MARION STAR STAFF REPORT

MARION – With the possible departure of Fairbanks, the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference is assembling a list of schools to fill the potential vacancy in its Red Division.

The executive committee of the MOAC has accepted a recommendation by conference athletic directors to put together the list.

Any new school would join Buckeye Valley, Jonathan Alder, Galion, Marion Harding, North Union, Pleasant and River Valley in the Red Division in interscholastic competition in all MOAC-sponsored sports.

The ability to join the MOAC beginning with the 2016-17 school year in all sports except football and in the 2017-18 school year in football is preferred but not required.

Interested schools must provide a letter of interest addressed to Terry Williams, commissioner. This letter must be received via mail at P.O. Box 2413, Marion, Ohio 43301 or via email at commissioner@moacsports.org no later than noon on June 1. It must be signed at minimum by the school’s current athletic director and principal.

Letters meeting these requirements will be presented to the executive committee on June 10 for further consideration.

Additional information can be obtained by contacting Williams by email.
