CP&E Marketing closing in late April

Staff report

COSHOCTON – A local business in the community for the past 17 years will be closing its doors in late April.

CP&E Marketing, which operated as the area’s only local office supply dealer, will close on April 30.

“After much discussion and consideration, my children and I have decided we need to close CP&E Marketing,” owner Sharon Oberweiser said in a news release. “This was a hard decision to make, but I know it was the right one.”

The business provided all types of office supplies and furniture as well as custom printing of checks, envelopes, stationary, invoices and other printing needs.

Oberweiser wrote that, since her husband, Doug, died in February 2014, the family has worked hard to keep the business going.

However, it just proved to be too much.

“Doug was really the heart and soul of CP&E Marketing,” Oberweiser wrote. “He started the company 17 years ago in one of our spare rooms and he loved every day of having his own business.”

Oberweiser hopes the time frame will give their customers enough time to order what they need until they find another business source.

She also added that the family has appreciated all the business from the area for 17 years.

“We are closing, but our customers are still very important to us and I thank you all for your business and support,” she said. “I also thank each and every one of you who let me know how much Doug was liked and respected.”

The company will operate “business as usual” throughout April but will not be quoting future orders.
