Lights and Sirens: Police warn of IRS phone scam

INCIDENTS

•A report of an assault in the 900 block of West Perry Street was received and remains under investigation. 9:12 a.m.

•A High Street resident reported her purse stolen March 13 while she was at Kroger. Officers are investigating. 10:06 a.m.

•A private property accident report was taken in the 1000 block of East Mansfield Street. 1:47 p.m.

•Officers assisted Life Support in the 500 block of West Southern Avenue. 2:15 p.m.

•Multiple residents reported receiving phone calls claiming to be from the IRS trying to get payments from the residents. This is a scam and no information should be given to anyone calling making these claims, police say. 3:46 p.m.

•A Reid Street resident reported her identity was used to fraudulently open a credit card in her name. 3:50 p.m.

•A report of an erratic driver in the area of Mary and Sandusky Avenue was investigated. 4:14 p.m.

•A Bucyrus resident came to the police station to report a possible protection order violation. 4:22 p.m.

•A report of a suspicious vehicle on Wheeler Avenue was investigated. It turned out to be someone watching their child play ball. 5:47 p.m.

•A report of a child walking and crying on East Mansfield Street was investigated. 6:16 p.m.

•A disturbance in the 100 block of Fisher Street was investigated. 6:39 p.m.

•A domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Woodlawn Avenue was investigated. 8:09 p.m.

•A report of vehicles squealing their tires on Marion Road was investigated. 9:12 p.m.

•A report of someone attempting to break in a window at a residence in the 1000 block of Tiffin Street was investigated. 10:36 p.m.
