The autopsy was performed Friday, according to the report.

The body had bruises and various ages of skin injuries, according to the report, which The Times Recorder obtained Tuesday.

Aiden Adkins died March 26 at Genesis Good Samaritan Medical Center, according to his obituary published on the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home website. The obituary listed Aiden as the son of Katherine Talbot and Brian Adkins and said a funeral service was held March 31.

On Monday, Chief Scott Ervin, of the New Lexington Police Department, confirmed the death of a 2-year-old child to The Times Recorder and said an investigation is underway.

However, Ervin refused to release any information including the initial police report, which is public record under Ohio law. The Times Recorder has filed a public records request with his department.

A gofundme account, the Aiden Lamar Adkins memorial fund, has raised more than $3,000.

The account, established by Tapatha Hull, has a set goal of $4,000 and states "I am raising funds to help Aiden's family pay for funeral costs. Losing your child is so unimaginable. They are going through so much. The pain of losing someone you love is hard enough so everyone please donate what you can or share on your page. All donations go directly to the family."

The Times Recorder reached out to Talbot and Hull through Facebook.
