ZANESVILLE – Mother Tucker's on Sharon Avenue seemed lucky earlier this year when it sold a winning lottery ticket with a $1 million prize. Now, Mother Tucker's is becoming consistent.

Scratching Off a Lotto Ticket

The local gas station and convenience store sold a winning scratch-off lottery ticket Sunday night with a $2 million prize, making it the second time in six months Mother Tucker's has sold a big winner.

"I think that lightning has struck twice here," owner Jimmy Pitcock said. "I mean, two times in the last six months, that's something else."

The first winning ticket from Mother Tucker's came in January, for a New Year's raffle from the Ohio Lottery. Not long after, lines to buy lottery tickets at the store snaked out the front door. People looked to capitalize on the store's apparent luck when the Powerball jackpot creeped up to $450 million in February.

Pitcock said he expects the rush to be just as big or bigger now that Mother Tucker's is riding a relative hot streak.

As of Monday, the Powerball jackpot stood at $188 million and the Mega Millions at $253 million.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 258,890,850. Players have a slightly better chance at winning Powerball, with odds at 1 in 175,223,510.
