Ridgedale to stage 'The Pajama Game'

A cast of 65 Ridgedale students, from grade school to high school, will stage the musical "The Pajama Game" Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Marion Palace Theatre. The Friday and Saturday times are 7:30 p.m. Sunday's performance begins at 2 p.m. "The Pajama Game" is the story of Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory and the conflict between employees and management and the love story between factory superintendent Sid Sorokin, played by Christian Decker and union grievance committee leader Babe Williams, played by Carlie Simon. In the meantime, as floor manager Vernon Hines, played by Dominic Straquadine, and his love Gladys Hotchkiss, played by Nicole Haines, work through their rocky relationship, things come to a head when the union president, played by John McDaniel, and Sleep-Tite boss, played by Sabrina Severns, fight over a 7 ½ cent raise.  The conflict between management and labor also becomes a battle of the sexes.
