Lancaster Dancing with the Stars set for May 8

LANCASTER – The Lancaster Dancing with the Stars event is set for 6 p.m. May 8 at Fisher Catholic High School, 1803 Granville Pike, Lancaster.

The event is a fundraiser for the Partner with Youth campaign for the Robert K. Fox Family Y, Y executive director Mike Lieber said.

This year the local celebrity dancers are Dr. Sarah Froman, Amanda Strigle, Ricki Chenault, Sheriff Dave Phalen, John Smith and Nicholas Grilli. They will be paired with professionals representing ML Dance Academy.

Each dancer will learn two dances and perform in front of their friends and three judges who will score their routines. Prizes are awarded for the best dancer, the dancer who raises the most money and the dancer who is most entertaining according to the crowd meter.

Last year nearly 250 people were entertained. Tickets are now on sale at the YMCA. Tickets can be purchased at the Y for $60 for individuals or $425 for a table of eight. Each ticket purchased includes dinner and a drink.

The community may also support this event through a direct tax-deductible gift. Last year the event raised more than $8,000.
